The issues of women in Arab and Muslim countries have always created a controversy in western media. This video of a male figure, dressed in traditional Arab attire, crawling in the desert creates an emphasis on the importance of women in Arab society. The importance exists in reality but is obscured by traditions and politics. Through the multiplicity of the woman's face, which is enlarged to an unrealistic scale in relation to the male figure, creates an intimidating feeling in a desert setting where Arabs are usually associated with. The male figure crawls back and forth in an infinite circle and yet the faces are unable to devour him. This brings attention to the male dominance in society and the struggle of women who are in dire need of emancipations.
